As usual at this time of year we have updated rates published for the minimum hourly rates payable to the various age ranges.  Starting on the 1st April 2016 employers will have to pay the following National Minimum / Living Wage rates to employees:-

Age 25+ – £7.20 per hour

21 to 25—£6.70 per hour

18 to 21—£5.30 per hour

Up to 18—£3.87 per hour

Apprentices—£3.30 per hour

The rate for 25 year olds (or over) has been referred to a the Living Wage, and it looks as though this has now been built in to the National Minimum Wage system, meaning that it can be updated in the same way as the minimum wage every year – so watch this space!
