Gemma is an experienced specialist medical negligence Solicitor with over 17 years’ experience in the field. She is accredited with the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel and as an APIL Senior Litigator, and has been regularly recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

With extensive experience across all types of clinical negligence claims – from lower-value fatal cases to high-value cerebral palsy claims, including one that settled for over £23 million. While at Hugh James, Gemma was also involved in over 140 claims against a doctor employed in the British Overseas Territory of St Helena.

Gemma joined Middleton Law Ltd in October 2025 as a Consultant in the Medical Negligence Team, having previously been a Partner at Hugh James and at Clarke Willmott.

Outside of work, Gemma is a keen sailor and enjoys spending time on the water with her husband and son, regularly taking part in international Folkboat sailing events.
