A former private school teacher has been found guilty of multiple child sexual abuse offences against pupils at Newlands School in Seaford.

David James Clarke, 82, was convicted of 45 sexual offences, including indecent assault, indecency with a child and making indecent images of children. The court heard he used a school photography club to isolate boys, abusing them in a darkroom setting and exploiting his position of trust.

Prosecutors said he targeted vulnerable pupils, using threats and manipulation. The case was brought following a Sussex Police investigation, with several former pupils coming forward many years after the abuse took place.
